Nothing could be any more appropriate than the nickname Fred has bestowed upon Honey Lemon. She is sweet and warmhearted, instantly welcoming Hiro Hamada with open arms and complete with a doble beso on his cheeks upon first meeting him; like the boy was already part of her circle of friends. This extends to how she expresses affection. Honey is a very tactile person, touching people’s shoulders when she talks to them, also not hesitating to reach out and hug her friends or even people she just met, even though it looks like she's invading their personal space without permission. It's done without malice though. Honey is just really excitable, that when she expresses her joy or has the opportunity to share her passions (especially when it involves chemistry) that sometimes she steamrolls other people.

She is still one of the kindest and friendliest people you'll ever meet, offering to be the emotional support in times of trouble. It is implied that she contacts Hiro when he was depressed and mourning over Tadashi's death, gently encouraging the younger Hamada not to push all of them away and to rely on them when Baymax calls them for backup, as it were. Even at the face of the imminent danger of being attacked by Yokai for the first time, Honey, ever the optimist. still chose to look at the bright side, thinking that the he wasn't trying to kill the team (only to be proven wrong later). After finding out the truth and knowing his methods were wrong, Honey Lemon still sympathises with Callaghan, working together with Gogo and the rest to stop Baymax from killing their mentor, with Honey being the one who takes out the red chip before anything worse happens. Essentially, she is the heart of the group, the glue that holds them together because of her empathetic, sweet personality and positive attitude.

While the team was staying at Fred’s mansion to recuperate from what had happened at the docks, Honey, who earlier displayed an exuberant confidence, expresses doubt. She knows that she’s merely a girl working towards a chemical engineering degree. What can she and the rest of her friends do against a supervillain? After a pep talk from Hiro, Honey bounces back, choosing not to let the incident get her down and now ready to go along with the plan to take the Kabuki mask away from Yokai.

Honey's quirky sense of style and goofy personality might not let one believe that she is a very intelligent woman. Besides the fact she is studying in the most prestigious university in San Fransokyo to pursue her passion, her knowledge of chemicals and their properties have proven to be innate and thorough enough for her not needing to look down at the typepad of her Power Purse, inputting what type of Chem Ball she needs at the blink of an eye. She's also the most observant among her teammates, being the one who decodes the various evidence regarding the motives and identity of Yokai. Honey is also the person who finds the portal and the recording that spells out his true intentions.

You wouldn't also know by looking at her, but she actually has an unexpected love of danger! Always mixing volatile substances in her purse and looking rather unfazed by the turn of events in the movie, even excitedly exclaiming "Now that's a chemical reaction!" when she had to turn her purse into a makeshift explosive and it just blew up behind her. It’s a subtle thing, only noticeable when one watches Honey closely, her quick movements while demonstrating her chemical embrittlement experiment with a rather gleeful smile on her face while using a blowtorch on it, giving off a "mad scientist" vibe.

Sweet as can be, and with a hidden fire in her heart, that’s Honey Lemon.

◎ Powers/Abilities:
Honey Lemon is, first and foremost, a brilliant chemist. The Power Purse that Hiro designs for her has a touchscreen that has the Periodic Table of Elements, and is a mini chem lab of sorts. She doesn't even need to look down, inputing what chemical combinations she needs to produce in record time. Some of the chem-balls her purse can produce are:

hardening foam to halt movement

cushion foam to break falls

blinding light and smokescreens for camouflage

acid to melt metal

ice to freeze or engulf enemies

For more mundane abilities, Honey Lemon is an accomplished cook and baker. In fact, she's the 2nd runner up in a Reality TV cooking competition she joined some time ago (Fred, in his secret files, has stated that Honey's brownies are the best). Honey also designs her own clothes and runs a popular online boutique. Is taking really cute selfies an ability too? She also does Pilates in her spare time.

"Like herding cats" is a saying that shouldn't be taken lightly as Honey Lemon comes to realize while she circled the perimeter of the Lucky Cat Cafe, calling out for the Hamadas' beloved pet cat. Aunt Cass has called for reinforcements when she, Hiro, and Baymax couldn't find the feline in his usual places around the cafe and in the flat so he must have sneaked out somehow.

"Mochi?" she called out, lifting the lid up and peeking inside trash can. "Mochiiiiiiii!" No such luck.

She sighed, carefully putting the lid down so that she can whip out her smartphone to take a picture of where she was with the caption: Mochi's not here :( Back of the shop secured. and sending the image to everyone. The entire team had agreed that they should mark their progress by taking a picture of the place they have searched so that they won't need to look there anymore if Mochi wasn't there. They have been at it for around 15 minutes now and it was getting worrisome. San Fransokyo was a big and busy city, with a lot of cars and cable cars moving about the hills and streets (She's trying not to think about Mochi being out there too much, shaking the thought away from her head). Mochi wasn't Honey's cat, but she loved that hairy baby just as much as the Hamadas (and Baymax) did.

After she sent her picture, Honey opened her messaging app, letting the team know she was heading inside the flat. Maybe they can congregate and compare their findings with each other once everyone was done with their individual assignments.

"Oohh," she said, pocketing her phone after her message was sent, making her way back into the cafe. "We're coming for you, Mochi!" Please be okay...

She wasn't quite sure when the idea struck her later. Maybe while Fred was going on about how he was thinking of wearing a suit made of fish sticks, yowling like a cat to draw Mochi out. Honey Lemon suddenly stood up, gripping her friend's shoulders tightly, shaking him slightly in her excitement.

"That's it, Freddie! You're a genius!"

Before anyone can get a word in edgewise, Honey lets Fred go, immediately going up to Aunt Cass and reaching out to hold both of the older woman's hands in hers.

"May we borrow a lot of boxes and paper bags, please? Oh, and catnip! Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of catnip!"
